What are these Russians doing in Argentina?
Amber Ash was born in 2023 as an alternative rock project formed by Russian musicians based in Buenos Aires. The band is led by Kristina Romanova (vocals and lyrics) and Evgeny Ivanov (guitar and composition), joined by session musicians on bass and drums.
We moved from Russia to Argentina in 2022, searching for new personal and creative horizons. Initially, Kristina played drums, but since she is the songwriter, a natural decision took shape: if she wrote the songs, she should perform them too. That’s how her role as the lead vocalist and emotional core of Amber Ash began.
Our sound blends the emotional power of grunge, the rawness of post-punk, and a contemporary sensibility. We sing in English, write from the heart, and bring a unique perspective on the world — as a foreign band immersed in the local scene.
Since our debut, we’ve been consistently releasing singles, organizing independent shows in Buenos Aires, and we’re currently working on our first studio album.

Kristina Romanova, 28, born in Rostov-on-Don, Russia, started as a drummer but soon took the microphone to give voice to her own songs. With a background in philology, she writes deep, emotionally charged, and sincere lyrics in English.
Since 2022, she has been living in Buenos Aires, where she leads Amber Ash with an intense stage presence and an energy that connects with the audience from the very first chord.

Evgeny Ivanov - lead guitar and composer of Amber Ash
Evgeny Ivanov, 31, was born in Rostov-on-Don, Russia, and has been living in Buenos Aires since 2022. He began playing guitar at the age of 14 and has been creating music ever since. He is the sonic engine of Amber Ash, composing all the songs and crafting the arrangements that define the band’s intense and emotional character.
His approach combines technique, sensitivity, and a clear artistic vision that shapes the band’s sonic universe.

Our Musical Career
Although we are a young band, we are taking confident steps
- Music ReleasesIn December 2024, we released our first official single on Spotify, marking the beginning of our sonic and aesthetic vision.
We are currently working on our first studio album, which will feature 10 original songs. Six of them are almost ready, and we are very excited about the result taking shape: an intense mix of energy, emotion, and darkly beautiful melodies.
This album will serve as a strong introduction to who we are as a band and an invitation to dive into our musical universe. - Сoncerts and FestivalsAmber Ash has already begun to make its mark on the Buenos Aires local scene. We have participated in two editions of the “Rock & Freak” festival at the iconic Gier Music Club, sharing the stage with other emerging bands from the city. Additionally, we have played gigs at Lezica Centro Cultural and at the De La Flor festival.
We also organized our first solo show at the Russian bar “Bucarest”, where we connected intimately with the audience and showcased our original repertoire. These concerts marked the first steps of our live career in Argentina and inspire us to keep growing and performing on more stages. - Ash is a unique bandAmber Ash is a Russian band with an unusual story and background in the Latin American music scene. The name of our band, Amber Ash, is officially registered with the National Directorate of Copyright (DNDA) in Argentina through the corresponding association. This ensures the legal protection of our artistic identity within Argentine territory.
